ABSTRACT Substituted 2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1-carba- zole-1-acetic acid derivatives and methods for their preparation and use are disclosed. The compounds are useful analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents. They have the structure: (I) Image wherein R and R2 are hydrogen or lower alkyl contain- ing 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R1 is lower alkyl containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms and the pharmaceu- tically acceptable salts thereof.
