3,5-biphenyl-1,2,4-triazoles of formula (I) have useful pharmaceutical properties and are particularly active as iron chelators. They can be used for the treatment of an iron overload in the body of warm-blooded animals. Certain of these compounds are novel.

Ces composés présentent des propriétés pharmaceutiques utiles et sont particulièrement actifs comme chélateurs de fer.
