The present invention relates to the use of 4-phenyl-4-[1H-imidazol-2-yl]- piperidine derivatives according to Formula (I) the pharmaceutically acceptable acid or base addition salts thereof, the stereochemically isomeric forms thereof, the tautomeric forms thereof and the N-oxide forms thereof as selective non-peptide .delta.-opioid agonists for use in the prevention and/or treatment of various central nervous system disorders, in particular as selective antidepressant and anxiolytic non-peptide .delta.-opioid agonists. In particular are claimed compounds according to Formula (I) in which A=B is C=O or SO2, X is a covalent bond, R1 is alkyloxy, alkyloxyalkyl, Ar or NR9R10, wherein R9 and R10 each independently are hydrogen or Ar ; or A=B and R1 together form a benzoxazolyl radical ; p is zero, R3 is benzyl optionally substituted with hydroxy, alkyl or alkyloxycarbonyl and R4 and R5 each are hydrogen.
La présente invention concerne l'utilisation de dérivés 4-phényl-4-[1H-imidazol-2-yl]-pipéridine représentés par la formule (I), de leurs sels d'addition acides ou basiques pharmaceutiquement acceptables, de leurs formes stéréochimiquement isomères, de leurs formes tautomères et de leurs formes N-oxyde en tant qu'agonistes delta-opioïdes non peptidiques sélectifs destinés à être utilisés dans la prévention et/ou le traitement de divers troubles du système nerveux central, notamment en tant qu'agonistes delta-opioïdes non peptidiques antidépresseurs et anxiolytiques. Cette invention se rapporte notamment à des composés représentés par la formule? ¿(I) dans laquelle A=B représente C=O ou SO¿2?, X représente une liaison covalente, R?1¿ représente alkyloxy, alkyloxyalkyle, Ar ou NR?9¿R?10¿, R?9¿ et R?10 ¿représentant chacun indépendamment hydrogène ou Ar; ou bien A=B et R?1¿ forment ensemble un radical benzoxazolyle; p représente zéro, R?3¿ représente benzyle facultativement substitué par hydroxy, alkyle ou alkyloxycarbonyle et R?4¿ et R?5 ¿représentent chacun hydrogène.
