Substituted ethylene-silane adducts used as protective group reagent Abstract Compounds of the formula Ia Image (Ia), in which X is an ester group of an inorganic or organic acid and m is a number from 1 to 4, R1 and R2 independently of one another are linear or branched C1-C12-alkyl or unsub- stituted or C1-C6-alkyl-substituted benzyl, C5-cyclo- alkyl or C6-cycloalkyl, or R1 and R2 together are tetra- methylene or pentamethylene and R3 to R6 independently of one another are linear or branched C1-C12-alkyl. unsub- stituted or C1-C6-alkyl-substituted phenyl or phenyl- CnH2n- with n = 1 to 6, C5-cycloalkyl or C6-cycloalkyl, R3 and R5 together and/or R4 and R6 together are tetra- methylene or pentamethylene, or R3 and R4 together and/or R5 and R6 together are trimethylene or tetramethylene, one of the radicals R1 to R6 containing at least two carbon atoms if X is halide or the radical of a carboxylic acid, are obtainable by reacting monochlorosilanes of the formula II Image (II), with tetrasubstituted ethylenes of the formula III Image (III). X as Cl and Br can be replaced by ester groups of inorganic and organic acids. The compounds of the formula I and those with other ester groups are suitable especially as a protec- tive-group reagent for hydroxyl, mercapto, carboxyl, amino and amide groups.
