ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Substituted N-phenylpyridazone derivatives of the general formula I Image (I), where R1, R2 and R3 are each hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-haloalkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkoxy, C1-C4-alkylthio, C1-C4-haloalkylthio, C1-C4-alkylsulfinyl, C1-C4-alkylsulfonyl, halogen, cyano, phenyl, phenoxy, or phenylthio and Z is a straight-chain, saturated alkylene group of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, herbicides containing these compounds, and a process for combating the growth of unwanted plants.
