ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Oxazoline compounds having the following general formula Image wherein R1 is Image x-?-OCH2, CH3 or CH3-Ch2, R2 is when n is 1, Image or a monovalent hydrocarbyl group having from 1 to 23 carbon atoms, R2 in when n is 2, an alkylene group having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, R3 nnd R4 are the same or different monovalent hydrocarbyl groups having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, n is 1 or 2 and x is an integer of from 1 to 4. Such oxazolines are found to be useful as antioxidants in organic substances normally susceptible to oxidative deterioration.
