Substituted p-hydroxyphenyl compounds Abstract of the Disclosure Compounds of formula I Image (I) wherein each of R1 and R2 independently of the other is C5-C7cyclo- alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by C1-C3alkyl, and R2 is also C1-C12alkyl, phenyl, or C7-C10phenylalkyl which is unsubsti- tuted or substituted at the phenyl ring by -OH and/or -OCH3 and/or C1-C12alkyl, X is oxygen or -N(R3)-, R3 is hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl or phenyl, n is 0, 1 or 2, m is an integer from 1 to 4, and, if m is 1, A is C8-C20alkyl, if m is 2, A is C2-C18alkylene or C2-C18alkylene which is interrupted by -O-, -S-, -N(R3)- or -NH-COCO-NH-, or, if X is -N(R3)-, A is additionally a direct bond or a group of for- mula II, III or IV Image (II) Image (III) Image (IV) in which formulae X1 is C1-C12alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, benzyl or tetrahydrofuryl, X2 and X4 are C1-C12alkyl, X3 is C1-C12alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, phenyl which is substituted by C1-C4alkyl and/or -OH, or is piperidyl or tetrahydrofuryl, and each of X5 and X6 independently of the other is C1-C12alkyl, cyclohexyl, benzyl, phenyl, phenyl which is substituted by C1-C4alkyl and/or OH, or is naphthyl, if m is 3, A is a trivalent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 3 to 7 carbon atoms, and, if m is 4, A is a tetravalent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 4 to 10 carbon atoms, are suitable for stabilising organic material against thermooxidative and/or light-induced degradation.
