ABSTRACT Substituted phenylalkyl(piperazinyl or homopiperazinyl)-propyl-(ureas or thioureas) Compounds of formula I (I) Image (wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen, lower alkyl, hydroxyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkanoyloxy, lower alkanoyl, halogen, nitro, cyano, lower alkoxycarbonyl, di(lower alkyl)amino, lower alkylthio or trihalomethyl; R4 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 3 to 8 carbon atoms, allyl, phenyl, or phenyl substituted by lower alkyl, halogen, lower alkoxy, carboxyl, lower alkoxy- carbonyl, lowe alkoxyethoxycarbonyl, cyano, nitro, lower alkylthio, di(lower alkyl)aminoethoxy- carbonyl, lower alkylsulfonyl, lower alkylsulfinyl, carbamyl, tetrazolyl, sulfamyl, hydroxyl or lower alkanoyl; n is 1, 2, 3 or 4; m is 0 or 1; p is 2, 3 or 4; and X is oxygen or sulfur); having activity as antihistamine or inhibitors of mediator release from basophils or mast cells.
