TITLE OF THE INVENTION: A SUBSTRATE CAPABLE OF ADSORBING PROTEIN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A porous substrate capable of adsorbing protein, comprising a cross-linked copolymer having methylol groups, the copolymer being made of a monomer of styrene-series and a cross- linking agent copolymerizable with the monomer, the outer surface thereof being hydrophilic and the inner surface of pores thereof being hydrophobic, is prepared by subjecting a mixture of the monomer and the cross-linking agent to suspension polymerization in water in the presence of a pore regulator and a water-soluble polymer and providing the resultant cross-linked copolymer with methylol groups.
