Substrates for thioredoxin reductase, containing compounds represented by general formula (1) or (1') (such as 2-phenyl-1,2-benzisoselenazol-3(2H)-one or open-ring derivatives thereof) (wherein R1 and R2 are each hydrogen, halogeno, trifluoromethyl, or the like; R3 is aryl, an aromatic heterocyclic group, or the like; R4 is hydrogen, hydroxyl, an -S-.alpha.-amino acid group, or the like; R5 is hydrogen or C1-C6 alkyl; Y is oxygen or sulfur; and n is an integer of 0 to 5, with the proviso that the selenium atom may be oxidized). These substrates are reduced by thioredoxin reductase in the presence of NADPH and enhance the peroxidase activity of thioredoxin reductase.

L'invention porte sur des substrats pour thiorédoxine réductase contenant des composés représentés par la formule générale (1) ou (1') (tels que le 2-phényl-1, 2-benzisosélénazol-3(2H)-one ou des dérivés à cycles ouverts dudit composé). Dans cette formule, R?1¿ et R?2¿ représentent chacun hydrogène, halogéno, trifluorométhyle, etc.; R?3¿ représente aryle, un groupe aromatique hétérocyclique, etc.; R?4¿ représente hydrogène, hydroxyle, un groupe S-a d'acides aminés, etc.; R?5¿ représente hydrogène ou alkyle C¿1?-C¿6?; Y est oxygène ou souffre; et n est un entier compris entre 0 et 5, à la condition que l'atome de sélénium puisse être oxydé. Ces substrats sont réduits par la thiorédoxine réductase en présence de NADPH et augmentent l'activité du péroxydase de la thiorédoxine réductase.
