ABSTRACT An applicator for applying materials beneath the surface of the earth includes a rotatable fluted disc for cutting a sinuous slot in the earth, a blade following the disc having a width substantially equal to the distance between the crests of the flutes on opposite sides of the disc, and an injection conduitimmediately following the blade for injection of the material into the earth, such that as the disc, blade and injection conduit move parallel to the surface of the earth, the material is injected into the earth and is automatically covered by the earth.
