The intent of this automated net deployment system (see Drawing 9) for subway trains is to both to mitigate the collision impact to suicide jumpers to be survivable using a trigger net system -- strung between take-up spools on either side of the front of train, mounted on dynamically adjusting air shock absorber struts -- which instantly deploys a catcher net when impacted if the train is in motion, that safely scoops the jumper up, thus protecting them from ricocheting into other obstructions or under the wheels. This system quickly retracts onto the train face when not needed, in order to free the coupling hitch for duty as required.
