The invention relates to a suction or ventilation roll of a machine for producing and/or finishing a paper, cardboard, tissue or other fibrous material web (2). Said roll comprises a rotatable, perforated roll jacket (1) and at least one pressure zone (9), which only extends over part of the roll circumference and is formed by a fixed pressure compartment (6) located in the interior of the roll and open towards the roll jacket (1). The pressure compartment (6) is connected to a negative- or excess-pressure source and is sealed in relation to the roll jacket (1) by means of at least one sealing element (7). One aim of the invention is to reduce the noise emissions. To achieve this, a substantially air-tight cover (5), which runs in the direction of the circumference and is located outside the pressure compartment (6), adjoins a sealing element (7), said cover making contact with the roll jacket (1), or being placed at a distance of less than 100 mm to the latter.

L'invention concerne un rouleau aspirant ou soufflant d'une machine de production et/ou de façonnage d'une bande de matière (2) telle que le papier, le carton, le papier de soie ou une autre matière à base de fibres. Ce rouleau comprend une enveloppe (1) rotative perforée et au moins une zone de pression (9) s'étendant uniquement sur une partie de la circonférence du rouleau, cette zone de pression (9) étant formée par un caisson de pression (6) fixe situé à l'intérieur du rouleau et ouvert sur son côté faisant face à l'enveloppe (1). Ce caisson de pression (6) est relié à une source de dépression ou de surpression, au moins un élément d'étanchéité (7) assurant l'étanchéité entre ledit caisson et l'enveloppe (1) du rouleau. Selon l'invention, pour réduire les émissions sonores, un revêtement (5) au moins sensiblement hermétique s'étendant dans le sens circonférentiel et disposé à l'extérieur du caisson de pression (6) est situé adjacent à au moins un élément d'étanchéité (7), ce revêtement se trouvant en contact avec l'enveloppe (1) du rouleau ou étant situé à une distance de celui-ci inférieure à 100 mm.
