An electrochemical analysis system for the analytical determination of a glucose content present in a sample of fruit or vegetable fluid extract, said system comprising: a sensor strip to provide an enzymatic reaction with the fluid to produce a current output proportional to the glucose concentration of said fluid; and an evaluation means for measuring the current output from the sensor strip to provide a measurement of the glucose concentration. The invention also discloses a method of determining in an analysis unit the glucose content of a potato, comprising the steps of: (a) subjecting a fluid extract from a potato to a sensor strip which causes an enzymatic reaction that produces a current output from the strip proportional to the glucose concentration of the fluid; and (b) measuring the current output to provide a reading of the glucose concentration of the fluid.
