In a suicide gene therapy system, a nucleic acid molecule, in particular a DNA molecule, encoding a glycosidase is applied with a non-toxic cyanogenic glycoside substrate, which upon degradation by the glycosidase yields hydrogen cyanide, for the treatment of brain tumours in animals or humans. The DNA preferably encodes linamarase, the substrate is preferably linamarin. It is carried by a viral vector or a plasmid. The two interacting components are administered separately.

Dans un système thérapeutique à gène suicide, une molécule d'acide nucléique, plus particulièrement une molécule d'ADN, codant une glycosidase est appliquée avec un substrat cyanogène non toxique qui, après dégradation par la glycosidase, produit un acide cyanhydrique pour le traitement des tumeurs cérébrales chez les animaux et les humains. L'ADN code, de préférence, pour une linamarase, le substrat étant de préférence une linamarine. L'ADN est porté par un vecteur viral ou un plasmide. Les deux composants interagissant sont administrés séparément.
