The invention relates to novel hydrolytically and thermo-oxidatively stable sulfonated polyarylenes having the structural element -X-Ar(SO3M)n-Y-, the aromatic ring which carries the sulfonic acid group being exclusively substituted by electron acceptor bridged groups X and Y, and optionally other non-electron donor substituents. The invention also relates to the synthesis and use of said compounds.
L'invention concerne de nouveaux polyarylènes sulfonés, stables à l'hydrolyse et par thermo-oxydation, caractérisés en ce qu'ils présentent la formule développée -X-Ar(SO3M)n-Y-, et en ce que le noyau aromatique qui porte le groupe acide sulfonique, est substitué exclusivement par des groupes pontés accepteurs d'électrons X et Y et, éventuellement, par d'autres substituants non donneurs d'électrons. L'invention concerne en outre la synthèse des composés précités et leur utilisation.
