A method of removing SO3 from a flue gas stream having increased amounts of SO3 formed by a NOx removal system, includes injecting a sorbent composition into the flue gas stream. The sorbent composition includes an additive and a sodium sorbent such as mechanically refined trona or sodium bicarbonate. The additive is selected magnesium carbonate, calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, and mixtures thereof. The concentration of the SO3 in the flue gas stream is reduced and the formation of a liquid phase NaHSO4 reaction product is minimized.
L~invention concerne un procédé d~élimination de SO3 d~un flux de gaz de combustion présentant des teneurs accrues en SO3, formé par un système d'élimination des NOx, ledit procédé comprenant l'injection d'une composition sorbante dans le flux de gaz de combustion. La composition sorbante comprend un additif et un sorbant à base de sodium, tel que le bicarbonate de sodium ou le trona raffiné mécaniquement. L~additif est choisi parmi le carbonate de magnésium, le carbonate de calcium, l~hydroxyde de magnésium, l~hydroxyde de calcium, et les mélanges de ces composés. La concentration de SO3 dans le flux de gaz de combustion est réduite et la formation d~un produit de réaction NaHSO4 en phase liquide est minimisée.
