A method is disclosed for increasing the rate of vulcanization of a sulfur rubber composition comprising heating a sulfur vulcanizable rubber composition to a temperature ranging from 100°C to 200°C, said rubber composition, containing a sulfur vulcanizable rubber, a sulfenamide compound and a hydrated thiosulfate. Addition of the hydrated thiosulfate to a sulfur vulcanizable rubber and a sulfenamide compound significantly increases the rate of vulcanization of the rubber.
On dévoile une méthode pour accroître le taux de vulcanisation d'une composition de caoutchouc au soufre comprenant le chauffage d'une composition de caoutchouc vulcanisable au soufre à une température variant entre 100 et 200 degrés C, ladite composition de caoutchouc contenant un caoutchouc vulcanisable au soufre, un composé sulfénamide et un thiosulfate hydraté. L'addition du thiosulfate hydraté à un caoutchouc vulcanisable au soufre et d'un composé sulfénamide augmente substantiellement le taux de vulcanisation du caoutchouc.
