Sunflower Plants Having a High Frequency of Regenerability of Fertile Plants from Hypocotyl Explants and Regenerability from Isolated Protoplasts and Method of Using Same Abstract of the Disclosure A sunflower variety designated PTO24 has been found to have a very high capability of regenerating fertile plants from single protoplasts. A methof of using said variety to regenerate fertile sunflower plants and to impart the regenerative trait to other, non-regenerating varieties is also disclosed.
