ABSTRACT SUNSCREEN COMPOSITIONS Sunscreen compositions are disclosed which are resistant to rub-off and the concomitant loss of protection provided by the sunscreen. The sunscreen compositions comprise: A) from about 1% to about 20% of an oil soluble sunscreen; B) from about 0.25% to about 3% of an ethylene acrylic acid copolymer having the formula Image C) from about 2% to about 10% of an emulsifier; and D) from about 70% to about 96% of water; wherein the ratio of A:B is from about 12:1 to about 15:1 and the ratio of x:y is from about 1:9 to about 1:24 and the molecular weight of B is from about 3500 to about 4500.
