A colored, sunscreen emulsion is disclosed which employs a water-soluble dye or a blend of water-soluble dyes whose color substantially disappears when the sunscreen emulsion dries after it is spread on the skin and/or is rubbed out. The coloration in the sunscreen enables the user to more effectively protect against sunburn by allowing more complete and uniform coverage of the sunscreen on the skin. The sunscreen emulsion comprises: a) at least one water- soluble dye that imparts a color other than white to the sunscreen emulsion, such that when the sunscreen emulsion dries after it is spread on the skin and/or is rubbed out, the color substantially disappears; b) at least one sunscreen active in an amount effective to protect against the actinic radiation of the sun; c) at least one emulsfier; d) sufficient water to form the colored emulsion; e) optionally, one or more emollients, humectants, dry- feel agents, waterproofing agents, preservatives, antioxidants, chelating agents and fragrances as well as any other class of materials whose presence may be cosmetically, efficaciously or otherwise desirable.

L'invention porte sur une émulsion de filtre solaire teintée utilisant un colorant soluble dans l'eau ou un mélange de colorants solubles dans l'eau dont la couleur disparaît pratiquement lorsque l'émulsion solaire sèche après avoir été étalée sur la peau et/ou retirée. La coloration du filtre solaire permet à l'utilisateur de se protéger plus efficacement contre les coups de soleil en appliquant le filtre sur la peau de manière plus couvrante et uniforme. L'émulsion solaire comprend: a) au moins un colorant soluble dans l'eau conférant une teinte autre que le blanc à l'émulsion de sorte que, lorsque celle-ci sèche après avoir été étalée sur la peau et/ou appliquée par frottement, la couleur disparaisse pratiquement; b) au moins un filtre solaire actif dans une quantité effective permettant de protéger du rayonnement actinique du soleil; c) au moins un émulsifiant; d) de l'eau en quantité suffisante de façon à former l'émulsion teintée; e) éventuellement, un ou plusieurs émollients, humectants, agents de toucher à sec, agents résistants à l'eau, conservateurs, antioxydants, agents de chélation et parfums, ainsi que tout autre type de matière dont la présence peut être souhaitable au niveau cosmétique, efficacité ou autre.
