A sunshade for a work vehicle such as an agricultural tractor or construction equipment subject to shock and vibration loading utilizes the spring rod not only to wind the spring but also as the support member of the sunshade extending the length thereof. This eliminates the need for the separate sleeve or housing found in the prior art for supporting the sunshade. A spring is directly coupled to the rod and to a shield about which the sheet member is wound eliminating separate coupling components found in the prior sunshades. In addition to reducing the number of components, the size of the sunshade is reduced, facilitating packaging of the sunshade in a vehicle cab.
