An LCD (11) comprises a rear polarizer (19) adhered to the rear of an AMLCD panel (17) with an index-matched, pressure sensitive adhesive (21). An ITO coating (23) adapted for use as a heating element is applied to the front of a second glass substrate (15). The heating element is also adhered to the rear polarizer with a silicone-based, index- matched, optical bonding material (25). Another ITO coating (27) usable as an EMI shield is applied to the rear of a first glass substrate (13). The EMI shield is also adhered to the front of the AMLCD panel with the above-mentioned bonding material. A front polarizer (31), which is crossed relative to the rear polarizer, is adhered to the front of the first glass substrate by the above-mentioned bonding material. A third glass substrate (35) is bonded to the front of the front polarizer by the above-mentioned sensitive adhesive. An anti- reflection coating (39) is applied to the front of the third glass substrate. A backlight (41) is positioned behind the second glass substrate.

L'invention concerne un affichage à cristaux liquides (LCD) (11) comprenant un polariseur arrière (19) collé à l'arrière d'un panneau ACLMA (17) à l'aide d'un autocollant (21) de même indice. Un revêtement (23) ITO conçu pour servir d'élément chauffant est appliqué sur la face d'un deuxième substrat (15) en verre. Un revêtement antireflet (39) est appliqué sur la face du troisième substrat en verre. Un panneau lumineux (41) est placé derrière le deuxième substrat en verre.
