A polymerization process produces polymers that are insoluble in a reaction mixture that was homogeneous before the polymer began to form. A dispersing agent in the polymerizing system (i.e., the reaction mixture plus the dispersing agent) allows a kinetically stable dispersion of the polymer to be formed in this polymerizing system. Also, an olefin metathesis process allows for the production of polymers, the crosslinked of existing polymers, or the decrosslinking of crosslinked polymers. Both the polymerization and metathesis processes are performed under superatmospheric conditions.

Un procédé de polymérisation permet d'obtenir des polymères insolubles dans un mélange réactionnel qui était homogène avant le commencement de la formation du polymère. Un agent de dispersion dans le système de polymérisation (c'est-à-dire, le mélange réactionnel plus l'agent de dispersion) permet d'obtenir une dispersion cinétiquement stable du polymère à former dans ledit système de polymérisation. De même, un procédé de métathèse d'oléfines permet de réaliser la production de polymères, la réticulation de polymères existants ou la déréticulation de polymères réticulés. Ces procédés de polymérisation et de métathèse sont réalisés dans des conditions suratmosphériques.
