Superconducting cable (1) comprising: a) a layer (20) of tapes comprising superconducting material; b) a tubular element (6) for supporting said layer (20) of tapes comprising superconducting material; c) a cooling circuit, adapted to cool the superconducting material to a working temperature not higher than its critical temperature; characterized in that said tubular element (6) is composite and comprises a predetermined amount of a first material having a first thermal expansion coefficient and a second material having a thermal expansion coefficient higher than that of said first material, said thermal expansion coefficients and said amounts of said first and second material being predetermined in such a way that said tubular element has an overall thermal shrinkage between the room temperature and said working temperature of the cable such as to cause a deformation of said tapes comprising superconducting material lower than the critical deformation of the same tapes.
L'invention concerne un câble supraconducteur (1) comprenant : a) une couche (20) constituées de bandes comprenant un matériau supraconducteur; b) un élément tubulaire (6) destiné au support de cette couche (20) de bandes comprenant le matériau supraconducteur; c) un circuit de refroidissement conçu pour refroidir le matériau supraconducteur à une température de travail inférieure à sa température critique. Le câble est caractérisé en ce que l'élément tubulaire (6) est composite et comprend une quantité prédéterminée d'un premier matériau ayant un premier coefficient d'expansion thermique, et d'un second matériau dont le coefficient d'expansion thermique est supérieur à celui du premier matériau. Les coefficients d'expansion thermique et les quantités de premier et de second matériau sont prédéterminés de manière que ledit élément tubulaire subisse un retrait thermique général entre la température ambiante et la température de travail du câble destiné à provoquer une déformation des bandes comprenant le matériau supraconducteur inférieure à la déformation critique de ces bandes.
