A process for manufacturing superconducting magnetic coils from strain-tolerant, superconducting multi-filament composite conductors (20) is described. The method involves winding the precursor to a multi-filament composite conductor (20) and am insulating material or its precursor around a mandrel (30) in order to form a coil (40), and then exposing the coil (40) to high temperatures and an oxidizing environment. The insulating material or its precursor is chosen to permit exposure of the superconductor precursor filaments to the oxidizing environment, and to encase the matrix-forming material (14) enclosing the filaments, which is reversibly weakened during processing.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de fabrication de bobines magnétiques supraconductrices à partir de conducteurs (20) composites, multifilaments, supraconducteurs, tolérants aux contraintes. Le procédé consiste à enrouler le précurseur à un conducteur (20) composite, multifilament et un matériau isolant ou son précurseur autour d'un mandrin (30) afin de former une bobine (40), puis à exposer la bobine (40) à de hautes températures et à un environnement d'oxydation. Le matériau isolant ou son précurseur est choisi pour pouvoir exposer les filaments du précurseur supraconducteur à l'environnement d'oxydation et pour mettre en boîtier le matériau formant une matrice (14) et renfermant les filaments, ce matériau isolant étant affaibli de manière réversible durant le traitement.
