A superheater spray control system for variable pressure applications is disclosed. The system determines actual superheater absorption and required superheater absorption and processes factors representative of same with measurements representative of the enthalpy of the steam at various locations within the system, along with a measurement of steam flow, to determine the water spray demand of the superheater.
