A super high-strength superfine wire having a diameter of 160 µm or below and a tensile strength in the range of 400 to 600 kgf/mm2. The wire has a composite phase of ferrite, and a low-temperature transformed phase consisting of martensite, bainite or a mixture of martensite and bainite, composed of 0.01 to 0.50% by weight C, 1.5% by weight or less Si, 5.0% by weight or less Mn, and the rest part of iron and inevitable impurities. The wire has a fibrous microstructure consisting of fibers of a unidirectional arrangement of microcells of sizes in the range of 5 to 100.ANG. formed by hard drawing at a reduction ratio of 99% or above, arranged at intervals in the range of 50 to 1000.ANG..
