An adjustable steady bearing support assembly and method provides support for a bearing (14) in rotational contact with a shaft (16) in a vessel such as a mixing vessel (10). The assembly and method allows axial movement of the bearing along the shaft in response to changes in the radial dimensions of the vessel while providing radial support of the bearing. The assembly employs strut assemblies (22) having pivotally mounted strut pairs (24) with an included angle between the struts in each pair to resist torsional forces on the bearing.
L'invention porte sur un support stable de palier et sur un procédé permettant de maintenir un palier (14) en contact tournant avec un arbre (16) placé dans un réceptacle tel que la cuve d'un malaxeur (10). Le support et le procédé permettent des mouvements axiaux du palier le long de l'axe en réponse aux variations de dimensions radiales de la cuve tout en maintenant radialement le palier. Le support utilise un ensemble d'entretoises (22) pivotante montées par paires, les entretoises d'une même paire faisant un angle afin de résister aux forces de torsion s'appliquant au palier.
