- 14 - "SUPPORT ATTACHMENT FOR A LADDER" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A support attachment for ladder comprises a pair of plates each clamped to a respective one of the legs of the ladder adjacent an upper end of the ladder and projecting forwardly therefrom. Each of the plates includes a front engaging surface for projecting into the troughing at the facing plate of the roof of the building against which the ladder is to ling. The front engaging surface extends vertically so as to lie in contact with the facing plate when the ladder is inclined away from the building at the required angle. There is also provided a cross bar which extends between the two plates at a position above the front engaging surface to rest against the inclined surface of the roof. Each plate includes two recesses the first for engaging over the front surface of the troughing on the facing plate and the second for receiving the edge of the inclined roof which overhangs the facing plate. The attachment provides a stable support of the ladder against the roof structure.
