A support body (7) for an apparatus having an extended nip (N), being defined by a contact surface (13) of the support body and an opposed surface (4), the support body being elastically deformable and has its contact surface adaptable to the opposed surface in interaction with this, and comprising a pressure chamber (14; 56; 60) or several pressure chambers (40; 43; 62), said pressure chamber or each pressure chamber, respectively, is arranged to be pressurized for loading the nip via said contact surface. According to the invention the support body is provided with a holding device (8) which forms a counter support for the pressure chamber or pressure chambers except at the side facing said contact surface. The invention also relates to a holding device for such a support body and also an apparatus, e.g. a press, for the treatment of a fibre web, said apparatus having such a support body. The invention also relates to a method of forming the extended nip in said apparatus by applying a pressure in at least one pressure chamber of the support body and expanding elastically deformable side portions of the support body, and also to a method of controlling the load in the extended nip by designing the support body with several pressure chambers and setting the pressures in the pressure chambers in accordance with a predetermined pattern.
L'invention concerne un corps d'appui (7) destiné à un appareil présentant un espacement allongé (N), délimité par une surface de contact (13) du corps d'appui et une surface opposée (4). Le corps d'appui peut subir une déformation élastique et sa surface de contact s'adapte à la surface opposée par interaction. Le corps d'appui comprend une chambre de pression (14, 56, 60) ou plusieurs chambres de pression (40, 43, 62). Cette chambre de pression ou chaque chambre de pression, respectivement, est arrangée pour être pressurisée en vue de charger l'espacement par l'intermédiaire de ladite surface de contact. Selon l'invention, le corps d'appui est muni d'un dispositif de retenue (8) servant de contre-appui pour la ou les chambre(s) de pression sauf sur le côté qui fait face à ladite surface de contact. L'invention concerne également un dispositif de retenue pour le corps d'appui, et un appareil, par exemple une presse, pour le traitement d'une bande continue en fibres, ledit appareil présentant un tel corps d'appui. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de formation d'un espacement allongé dans ledit appareil, par application d'une pression dans au moins une chambre de pression du corps d'appui et allongement des parties latérales du corps d'appui susceptibles de subir une déformation élastique. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé qui permet de réguler la charge dans l'espacement allongé en dotant le corps d'appui de plusieurs chambres de pression et en paramétrant les chambres de pression selon une configuration préétablie.
