-10- Abstract Support column for underground mining and tunnel construction, composed of a load-bearing outer shell and a core of a substance which is to be introduced in the flowable state and is capable of hardening. The upper column component can be slid out of the lower column component and is secured against being slid into the lower column component by a ring-shaped spring element. Active clamping forces can be introduced by means of clamping devices which can be mounted on the outside.
