A support device for a disposable absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin, is disclosed. The support device has a tensioning member and a pair of spaced apart ends. The tensioning member has a portion thereof that is elastomeric. The ends include an adhesive or other means for securing the support device to either the wearer and/or a supporting undergarment. The length of the support device is such that it extends longitudinally through a portion of a wearer's crotch area and biases the absorbent article toward the wearer during use.
