A support for holding an article or articles, such as a VCR or other electronic equipment, on top of a television receiver cabinet of the type having a flat front portion and a downwardly sloping rear portion. The support comprises a tray providing a flat surface for the article, with a front part suitable for resting on top of the front cabinet portion, and having a substructure under a rear part of the tray which has extendible legs suitable for resting on the rear cabinet portion. The legs have a threaded shaft capable of being received in one of a series of generally vertical bores in the substructure which includes sloping ribs formed so that the lower ends of the bores increase in depth towards the rear of the support, each leg being capable of being adjustably positioned in a selected one of the bores.
