A support rack for a room such as a bedroom comprises a vertical post with an upper pad for abutting the ceiling and a lower wing for abutting the floor, the post being formed from post portions and support pieces which are connected in axially aligned position so that each support piece comprises a sleeve and a plurality of pins projecting upwardly and outwardly from the sleeve. On selected rungs of the pins are mounted support elements in the form of either a trouser bar arrangement or a tray arrangement. The manufacturer of the device in separate elements allows it to be formed by injection molding from plastics materials, readily packaged and readily assembled.
