PHN. 8536 ABSTRACT: The invention relates to a low-pressure sodium vapour discharge lamp provided with a U-shaped discharge tube which is enveloped by an elongated outer bulb. The U-bend of the discharge tube is supported by means of a metal element supported internally of thr outer bulb at a change in profile of the outer bulb. The metal element being generally ring-like, located transverse of the outer bulb, and being provided with inwardly projecting tales which contact and fix the location of the bend of the dis- charge tube with respect to the outer bulb.
