ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed an apparatus for use with a coke oven having a carriageway for a quenching car along a side thereof, which apparatus comprises a hood for covering a quenching car on the carriageway, and a supporting structure which supports the hood solely from that side of the carriageway which is remote from the coke oven.
