Supports for immobilizing DNAs to present DNA libraries; and supports adequately usable in replicating DNAs by DNA amplification reactions. DNAs, etc. are immobilized on the surface of a support comprising one or more constituents selected from among diamond containing non-diamond carbon, amorphous carbon, plastic carbon and graphite. Further, a hydroxyl group is bonded to the surface of the support or a group having terminal carboxyl, which is formed by bonding hydrocarbyl to carboxyl, is bonded to the surface of the support via an ester bond or a peptide bond.
