A welded steel structure used in conjunction with corrugated plastic for an upright sign display. It consists of a square, steel, longitudinal tube into which is inserted a fork-shaped wire structure. The centre of the fork-shape is welded to a flat rectangular piece of steel which is in turn welded to the fork-shaped wire. This flat rectangular piece is what is inserted into the longitudinal tube. At the base of the longitudinal square tube, a metal bar is welded to create a step. To the bottom of the step a triangular shaped spike with a flange is welded. The fork configuration is inserted into the flutes found in the corrugated plastic and the spike is pushed into the ground by the installer's foot. This fork structure allows the sign to be posted in a stable manner, providing flexibility against force, such as strong winds. The longitudinal tube is of a strong steel and is the main support for the apparatus. The fork-shaped wire is of a thickness consistent with the cores of commercially manufactured corrugated plastic. The entire apparatus is powder coated to provide a rust-proofed structure which is aesthetically pleasing. This invention results in a two piece apparatus requiring no tools for its application and eliminates the need for hardware, i.e., nuts and bolts, used in other sign systems. Because the wire is powder coated, it is resistant to rust and may therefore be used repeatedly.
