ABSTRACT OF TEE DISCLOSURE Blends of extrudable, moldable, or heat formable thermoplastic polymers with a surface altering agent for the thermoplastic polymers comprising cross-linked polymer particles having an average size of 1 to 30 microns are disclosed. Also disclosed are processes for preparing such blends. Surface characteristics of the thermoplastic polymers such as, for instance, gloss printability and scuff-resistance can thereby be changed as desired in a simple manner without the necessity of employing such conventional procedures as using inorganic flatting agents, or mechanical surface altering techniques such as calendering, or applying surface coating compositions to substrates made from said thermoplastic polymers, all of which procedures have significant drawbacks associated therewith.
