SURFACE CLEANING UNIT FOR A BODY OF LIQUID ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A surface unit for an apparatus for cleaning a body of liquid includes a float to render the unit buoyant in the liquid. There is a body for carrying a float. A liquid inlet is connectable to a source of pressurized liquid. There is a liquid outlet and a displacing jet on the body and communicating with said inlet to receive pressurized liquid therefrom and to discharge the liquid in a predetermined direction, to thereby cause displacement of the surface unit in the liquid. The displacing jet is asymmetrical with respect to a vertical axis through the body. There is a vibrator to vibrate the body. The vibrator is operable by the pressurized liquid.
