A razor handle exhibits an elongated hand gripping structure having an upper surface and a lower surface and an end for connection to a blade unit having cutting edges directed away from the upper surface, the hand gripping structure also having a proximal end. The gripping structure also has side surfaces between the upper surface and the lower surface, and includes a distal portion close to the connection end, a proximal portion away from the connection end, and a neck portion between the distal portion and the proximal portion, the side surfaces having a neck region at the neck portion, the proximal portion and the distal portion being wider than the neck region, the proximal portion being wider than the distal portion, the neck region being sufficiently long to receive a thumb on one side and a plurality of fingers on the other side, the neck portion being closer to the end for connection than the proximal end. The upper surface has an elongated index finger indent that is sufficiently long to support multiple segments of an index finger, and the lower surface has an elongated thumb indent that is sufficiently long along a longitudinal axis to support both segments of a thumb oriented along the longitudinal axis. Alternative thumb and finger supporting arrangements are provided.
