A surface current heating apparatus including a plurality of hollow heat generating members (30, 92, 100, 107, 110) each of which is made of a ferromagnetic material and has a through-hole and which are spaced apart from each other so as to provide an array of the hollow heat generating members, and an electrically conductive wire (36) electrically insulated and extending through the through-hole of each hollow heat generating member, and wherein an alternating current from a power source (20) is applied to the electrically conductive wire, to cause a surface current to flow through a skin layer of each hollow heat generating member which is located near an inner surface of the through-hole, whereby heat is generated from the said skin layer of the heat generating member.
La présente invention a pour objet une installation de chauffage à courant de surface, constituée d'une pluralité d'éléments chauffants de forme creuse (30, 92, 100, 107et 110); chacun de ces éléments chauffants est composé d'une substance ferromagnétique et comporte un trou traversant; ils sont espacés les uns des autres de façon à former une réseau d'éléments chauffants de forme creuse; un conducteur électrique (36) isolé électriquement et passé à travers les trous traversants de tous les éléments chauffants, est raccordé à une source de courant continu (20); un courant de surface est mis en circulation à travers le revêtement de chacun des éléments chauffants de forme creuse, à proximité de la surface interne du trou traversant, ce qui entraîne la production de chaleur sous le revêtement de chacun des éléments chauffants.
