The present invention relates to a surface effect craft comprising a supporting deck structure having two pontoons mounted thereto in catamaran like fashion. A propulsion mechanism is mounted to a rear portion of the deck structure. A lift control member is disposed under the deck structure between the two pontoons. The lift control member is pivotally movable mounted to the front portion of the deck structure. A lift adjust mechanism pivotally moves the lift control member between a first position with the rear end of the lift control member being in close proximity to the surface and a second position with the rear end of the lift control member being in close proximity to the deck structure. Employment of the lift control member enables the craft to achieve surface effect at low speed and, furthermore, allows control of the aerodynamic lift in a wide range from maximum lift to negative lift. This substantially widens the range of surface conditions and speed the craft is operable, such as uneven ground, choppy water surfaces, snow, and ice.

La présente invention traite d'un bateau à effet de surface comprenant une structure de pont support ayant deux pontons montés à la façon d'un catamaran. Un mécanisme de propulsion est monté sur la partie arrière de la structure de pont. Un élément de commande de levage est disposé sous la structure de pont entre les deux pontons. L'élément de commande de levage est monté pivotant sur la partie avant de la structure de pont. Un mécanisme de réglage du levage fait pivoter l'élément de commande de levage entre une première position avec l'extrémité arrière de l'élément de commande de levage à proximité immédiate de la surface et une seconde position avec l'extrémité arrière de l'élément de commande de levage à proximité immédiate de la structure de pont. L'utilisation de l'élément de commande de levage permet au bateau d'effectuer un effet de surface à petite vitesse et, de plus, permet la commande du levage aérodynamique sur une plage étendue depuis le levage maximal jusqu'à un levage négatif. Ceci élargit substantiellement l'étendue des conditions de surface et de vitesse auxquelles le bateau est utilisable, telles que sol irrégulier, eau clapoteuse, neige, et glace.
