ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A surface elastic wave filter in which Rayleigh waves experience only small attenuation and phase-shift, the number of radiating elements of the filter encountered by the surface wave during its propagation being restricted. The filter comprises a piezo-electric substrate, at least an input and output electro- mechanical transducers, at least one of these transducers being constituted by two interdigitated combs having parallel teeth overlapping over a given length for determining overlapping portions defining a central radiating element and several non- central radiating elements located at either side of the central radiating element in such a manner that each of non-central radiating elements located on one side of the central radiating element and having different lengths, is symmetrical, in relation to a centre of symmetry M situated at the centre of the central radiating element, with one of the non-central radiating elements located on the other side of the central radiating element.
