ABSTRACT: An electrical connector for mounting on a circuit board comprises a housing with through passages each receiving an electrical terminal having a transverse lance with a free end lodged in a recess in a side wall of the housing. Each terminal has a solder tail for engaging a pad on the board, and from which projects a solder tail having a soldering portion outside the housing, for soldering to the pad and being flexible about a reduced cross-section part. The foot and the tail have sheared edges. Sheared edge engages the pad to provide for high terminal density. The terminals are moved inwardly of their passages against the resilient action of their lances when the connector is applied to the board, to urge the sheared edge against the pads whilst the tails are soldered to the pads. 14412 CA
