A surface mount resistor (10) is formed by joining three strips (20, 30, 32) of material together in edge to edge relation. The upper (32) and lower (30) strips are formed from copper and the center strip (28) is formed from an electrically resistive material. The resistive material is coated with epoxy (74), and the upper and lower strips are coated with tin or solder. The strips may be moved in a continuous path and cut, calibrated, and separated for forming a plurality of electrical resistors.

Cette invention concerne une résistance à monter en surface (10) formée par assemblage jointif de trois bandes (20, 30, 32) de matériau. Les bandes supérieure (32) et inférieure (30) sont en cuivre et la bande centrale (28) est en matériau diélectrique. Ce dernier matériau est revêtu d'époxy (74) tandis que les deux autres bandes sont revêtues d'étain ou de brasure.
