A system for protecting surfaces and facilitating the removal of unwanted substances therefrom is disclosed, the system including a poymeric coating having a low volatile organics content (VOC) which is safe for the environment, and a cleaner for application to the gating to remove material from the coating, such as graffiti. The coating may be either a water-based epoxy comprising a bisphenol A resin and polyamide resin, or an aliphatic urethane comprising a polymer having reactive sites which react with an isocyanate and an aliphatic isocyanate. The cleaner is suitable for removing all manner of epoxy and urethane based spray paints, indelible inks, industrial chemicals, and the like. The cleaner comprises N-methyl pyrrolidone in a concentration of fifty percent by weight or greater and a surfactant.

L'invention décrit un procédé servant à protéger des surfaces, ainsi qu'à en faciliter le retrait de substances indésirables. Ledit procédé comprend un revêtement polymère possédant une teneur faible en constituants organiques volatils (VOC) ne nuisant pas à l'environnement, ainsi qu'un agent nettoyant s'appliquant aux revêtements pour en enlever des matériaux, tels que des graffiti. Le revêtement peut être, soit un époxy à base aqueuse comprenant une résine de bisphénol A et une résine de polyamide, soit un uréthane aliphatique comprenant un polymère pourvu de sites réactifs réagissant avec un isocyanate et un isocyanate aliphatique. L'agent nettoyant est approprié pour enlever tous les types de peintures pulvérisées à base d'époxy et d'uréthane, les encres indélébiles, les produits chimiques industriels ou substances similaires. Ledit agent nettoyant comprend N-méthyle-pyrrolidone en concentration de 50 % en poids ou supérieure ainsi qu'un tensio-actif.
