ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In the electroplated steel sheets for automobile use, the chipping resistance, water-resistance adhesion, unpainted corrosion resistance, post-painted corrosion resistance and resistance to secular exposure are improved by superimposing a chemical conversion layer between electroplated layers or between the steel substrate and an electroplated layer. In detail, the present invention is concerned with a surface treated steel material having a layer of Zn- or Zn series alloy- layer and/or Zn composite material plated thereon. More particularly, the present invention relates to an electroplated steel sheet provided with the above mentioned layer for an anticorrosive protection of an automobile.
