A B S T R A C T The present invention is directed to a method for treat- ing resin printing plates to prevent or reduce smudging and/or linting using fluorocarbon surface active agent having a per- fluoroalkyl group with 4 to 14 carbon atoms. The surface active agent may be anionic, cationic or ampholytic and may be used in an aqueous, alcohol or aqueous-alcohol solution.
